Easy Pie Recipes

Pie is one of the most popular breakfast recipes in our home. I make pies for parties, birthdays and holidays too. I like both sweet and savory pies; both have their own taste and they are all loved by everyone in our home. Let’s find the best pie recipes.

1. Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie

It is comfort food at its best and is one of the easiest slow cooker recipes. This is a perfect weeknight dinner recipe.

You need a 6 Quart slow cooker. Once the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F, you are all set.

It is best served with baked biscuits. The recipe requires 5 minutes of prep time and 6 hours of cooking time.

The ingredients are chicken breasts, frozen mixed vegetables, oregano, condensed crea of chicken soup, heavy cream, and smoked paprika.

Keep the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and it will be good for 3 days. It freezes well for 3 months.

2. Old Fashioned Chocolate Pie

This is one of the most popular desserts in our home and is loved by kids and adults alike. You can make it with pantry staples.

It requires 10 minutes of prep time and 10 minutes of cooking time. Let it chill for an hour before you serve it.

The ingredients include flour, cocoa powder, vanilla extract milk, and egg yolks. Top it with shaved chocolate or sliced strawberries.

3. Strawberry Peach Pie

This is one of my favorite summer desserts, but you can make it all year long. It is perfect for parties and birthdays.

It requires 3 minutes of prep time and over an hour of cooking time. The ingredients include peaches, strawberries, butter, all-purpose flour, and cornstarch.

A ceramic pan is perfect for making this pie. You need a stand mixer. Use fresh peaches and strawberries for the desired result.

You can make it even a day in advance. Keep the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge, and it will be good for 5 days. It freezes well for 3 months.

4. Dutch Apple Pie

It is one of my favorite apple pie recipes. The pie crust is flaky and buttery. The tools required for the recipe include a 12-inch skillet, microplane grater, apple peeler, and pie plate.

I have used three apple varieties, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious and Honeycrisp to make it more flavorful. You can use other varieties too.

It requires 45 minutes of prep time and over an hour of cooking time. You need to let it rest for 4 hours. Preheat the oven to 425°F.

The ingredients include apples, nutmeg, all-purpose flour, vanilla, cinnamon, butter and sugar crumble. You can keep the pie in a plastic wrap at the counter for 2 days.

5. Irish Steak And Ale Pie

I like both sweet pies and savory pies. It is one of the most delicious savory pies. It is comfort food at its best. This is a great make-ahead recipe too. You need a pie dish.

The recipe requires 25 minutes of prep time and 1 hour 45 minutes of cooking time. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Boneless beef chuck is perfect for this recipe. The ingredients include boneless beef chuck, shallots, all-purpose flour, tomato paste and pepper.

Keep the leftovers in a plastic wrap in the fridge and it will be good for 5 days. It freezes well for 3 months. It is best served with Irish brown bread or Irish soda bread.

6. Condensed Milk Lemon Pie

I am a big fan of this pie because of its sweet and tangy flavor. The equipment required are a 9 inch deep dish pie pan, citrus juicer, electric mixer, mixing bowls, citrus zester and measuring cups and spoons.

You can even make it 3 days in advance. It requires 30 minutes of prep time and 25 minutes of cooking time. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for half an hour.

The ingredients include sweetened condensed milk, Graham cracker crumbs, egg yolks, lemon zest, and lemon juice.

Keep the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and it will be good for a week. It freezes well for 3 months.

7. Pistachio Custard Pie

It is one of my favorite pie recipes. I was introduced to this pie at my friend’s housewarming party and I was blown away.

You need a food processor. It requires 30 minutes of prep time and 50 minutes of cooking time. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for an hour.

The ingredients include all-purpose flour, pistachios, butter, vanilla extract, almond extract, cream cheese, and whole milk.

It is best served chilled, so let it chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours before you slice and serve it. Top it up with pistachios while serving. You can add whipped cream too.

8. Tart Cherry Pie

It is one of the most gorgeous pie recipes. The cherry filling makes it drool-worthy. You can use sweet cherries or frozen tart cherries, but I prefer the latter, as you already will have a sweet crumb topping, so if you use sweet cherries, it will become overly sweet.

You can use a store-bought butter pie crust or a homemade butter pie crust. I prefer the latter. You can even make this recipe up to 3 days in advance.

It requires 1 hour 30 minutes of prep time and 1 hour 15 minutes of cooking time. The ingredients include butter pie crust, flour, almond extract, frozen tart cherries, amaretto, and cornstarch.

Keep the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and it will be good for up to 5 days. It freezes well for 3 months.

9. Apple Pie

It is one of the most popular fall recipes. I make it every Thanksgiving. After serving it on the Thanksgiving table, it disappears within 10 minutes. It’s scrumptious and a crowd pleaser.

This buttery and gooey dessert is one of my favorite pie recipes. I prefer Granny Smith apples for this pie. The tools required are a pizza cutter, a food processor, an apple slicer, a pie plate and a rolling pin.

It requires 30 minutes of prep time and an hour of cooking time. Preheat the oven to 425°F. The ingredients include double pie crust, water, all-purpose flour, cinnamon and butter.

Keep the leftovers in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 2 days, in the fridge for up to 4 days and it freezes well for 6 months.

10. Beef Pot Pie

It requires 25 minutes of prep time and 20 minutes of cooking time.

The ingredients include ground beef, pepper, celery, carrots, and homemade pie crusts.

Nutella Pie

It requires 25 minutes of prep time and 2 hours of chilling time.

The ingredients include Oreos, Nutella, vanilla extract, heavy cream and chocolate bar.

Samoas Cookie Pie

The recipe requires 10 minutes of prep time and 35 minutes of cooking time.

The ingredients include butter, shredded coconut, all purpose flour, vanilla extract and egg.

Key Lime Pie

It requires 20 minutes of prep time and 25 minutes of cooking time.

The ingredients include lime zest, Graham cracker crumbs, Greek yogurt, sweetened condensed milk and heavy cream.

Apple Slab Pie

The recipe requires 45 minutes of active prep time and 45 minutes of cooking time.

The ingredients include all purpose flour, apples, cornstarch, nutmeg, butter and lemon juice.

Shepherd’s Pie

The recipe requires 30 minutes of prep time and an hour of cooking time.
